Explosives expert retires from Annapolis Fire Department after 8 years

Friday, July 25, 2014 marks the retirement of Annapolis Fire Department, Fire and Explosives Services Unit member K-9 Benny. Benny has faithfully and diligently served the citizens of Annapolis and our surrounding communities since 2006.

Benny is trained in explosive detection and has won several national awards for his skill, along with his handler, Lt. Carroll Spriggs.

During his career, Benny assisted in the protection of countless citizens, and the solving of numerous crimes. In his retirement, Benny will enjoy spending time with his family and relaxing.

Chief David L. Stokes, Sr. and everyone at the Annapolis Fire Department, wishes to thank K-9 Benny for his years of service to the City of Annapolis.
